NMEA Philosophy Statement
Just as music is important to all people, the Nebraska Music Educators Association (NMEA) plays an important role in the professional life of every music educator in Nebraska. NMEA should be a unifying factor within the state. It should continue to provide dynamic leadership yet strive for better ways to communicate with individual music educators. The NMEA holds music education together at all levels of the profession.
Educators should be inspired through their involvement in and commitment to the NMEA. The association must be aware of trends and foster innovation by tying together new ideas and identifying strong programs. The Nebraska Music Educator should provide members with valuable and useful information. The annual in-service conference/clinic should inspire and motivate teachers and students each year. This manual represents one way to improve the organization of each new or continuing officer of NMEA and make each position more viable, efficient and less frightening. Now, more than ever, Nebraska music educators need to join together, support each other and look to NMEA for leadership, communication and unification.
