The Nebraska Music Educators Association will sponsor its annual conference in Lincoln, Nebraska, November 18-20, 2010. Those who wish to submit applications for a performing ensemble for the 2010 NMEA Conference may do so by adhering to the guidelines as stated and completing the form below. Each application will be referred to the Selection Committee with final decision to be determined by the committee.
GUIDELINES
- Conductors must be a current member of MENC/NMEA
- Applications including all materials described below must be postmarked no later than May 1
- Conductor photo and bio MUST accompany the application in order to be considered
- Photos should be high resolution (300 dpi or better). Photos may be color or black/white
- An ensemble bio MUST accompany the application to be considered (Ensemble photo due September 10th)
- Bios must be sent in MS Word
- All bios and director’s photo must be sent on a CD with the application
- Recordings must be in a digital format and included on CD (DVD for Show Choir)
- Recordings should include three selections with some variety
- Recordings must be recorded during the 2009-10 school year
- All recordings should be identified on the exterior but NOT on the sound portion
- All applications and recordings should be sent first class or priority mail
- All expenses, travel risks and chaperonage of ensembles are to be covered entirely through local efforts
- Only the ensemble that auditions (other than soloists or accompaniment chamber ensemble) may perform at the conference, if selected
- Ensembles that performed at the 2008 or 2009 Conference will not be eligible to perform in 2010
