Conference.

Performing Groups for the 2008 NMEA Conference/Clinic
The Nebraska Music Educators Association will sponsor its annual conference in Lincoln, Nebraska, November 20-22, 2008. Those who wish to submit applications for a performing ensemble for the 2008 NMEA Conference may do so by adhering to the guidelines as stated and completing the form below. Each application will be referred to the Selection Committee with final decision to be determined by the committee.
GUIDELINES
- Conductors must be a member of MENC
- Proposal applications must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2008
- Photo of and information about the conductor MUST accompany the application in order to be considered
- Information about the ensemble MUST accompany the application to be considered. (Ensemble photo due September 10th)
- Performances may be recorded on CDs, tapes, or video tapes (for vocal ensembles with movement)
- Recordings should include three selections with some variety
- Recordings must be recorded during the 2007-08 school year
- If using tapes, record in one direction only and on new and clean tapes
- All recordings should be identified on the exterior but NOT on the sound portion
- All applications and recordings should be sent first class or priority mail
- All expenses, travel risks and chaperonage of ensembles are to be covered entirely through local efforts
- Only the ensemble that auditions (other than soloists or accompaniment chamber ensemble) may perform at the conference, if selected
- Ensembles that performed at the 2006 or 2007 Conference will not be eligible
to perform in 2008.
