DavisDr. Gary Davis was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Hall of Fame in 2009. Dr. Davis teaching career began in 1974 in Cedar Bluffs as the band and vocal music director. Gary then moved to Schuyler serving as the band director. After finishing his PHD, Gary became Director of Bands at Wayne State College. He then became Director of Bands at University of Nebraska Kearney. Gary served as President-Elect, President and Past-President of NMEA from 1990-1995.

 

DonohueLinda Donohue was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Hall of Fame in 2009. Mrs. Donohue’s first teaching position was in Stevens Point, Wisconsin (3 years); followed by Bloomington, Minnesota (17 years); then was the band director at the Gerald Otte-Blair Middle School (20 years) until her retirement in 2007 after 40 years of teaching. Linda received the NMEA Distinguished Service Award and the Donald A. Lentz Outstanding Bandmaster Award.  She also served as the NMEA Chair of Middle Level Affairs.

 

RoehrsWilliam A. Roehrs was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Hall of Fame in 2009. Bill began his teaching career in 1970 in the Hastings Public Schools serving as a vocal music teacher and Orchestra Director at Hastings Jr. High. In 1980, Bill began teaching music for the Lincoln Public Schools. For seventeen years, he taught band and orchestra at Pound Junior High/Middle School. In 1997, Mr. Roehrs became a string specialist until his retirement in 2009.  Bill served as President-Elect, President and Past-President of NMEA from 2000-2006.
