NiermanDr. Glenn Nierman was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Hall of Fame in 2008. Glenn Nierman began his teaching career in 1972 serving as band director and vocal music teacher in the Shawnee County Kansas Public Schools. Glenn’s next position was in the Topeka Kansas Public Schools serving on the secondary instrumental music staff and Music Department Chair. After finishing his Masters and PHD, Glenn became Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1979. Glenn served as President-Elect, President and Past-President of NMEA from 2002-2007. Glenn has also served as the MENC North Central Division President.

 

SpeedChrista Speed was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Hall of Fame in 2008. Mrs. Christa Speed began her teaching career in 1982 as an elementary vocal music teacher in Grand Island. After four years, she began assisting with the orchestra program and later became director of the Grand Island High School Orchestra. Christa has served as President and Membership Chair for the ASTA.  She has also served twice as the Chair of Orchestra Affairs for NMEA.
