Cornell Runestad was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Hall of Fame in 1997. Cornell taught in small Minnesota public schools and in large Wisconsin public schools prior to coming to Wayne State College. His final position was at Wayne State College where he taught for twenty-five years. Cornell served as the NMEA Chair of College and University Affairs.
Darwyn Snyder was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Hall of Fame in 1997. Tony began teaching in 1948 in Hawarden Iowa. He also taught in Hartley Iowa prior to going to Omaha Westside in 1954 till his retirement in 1987. Tony was a Charter member of NSBA and served as treasure in 1971-1974. Tony received the Donald A. Lentz Outstanding Bandmaster Award in 1991.
Marion Thayer was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Hall of Fame in 1997. Marion’s music teaching career spanned forty-two years. He taught at Stapleton, Farnam, Arapahoe, thirty-one years at Grant and finished his career in Madrid. He taught both vocal and instrumental music for all but two years. Marion was a Charter member of NMEA and NSBA. He served as president of his local education association and Rotary Club.
