Russell Anderson was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1990. Mr. Anderson taught 2 years in Birmingham, AL, and six years at Bethel College, North Newton, KS before going to Wayne State Teachers College in 1936 as Professor of Voice and Music Education. Mr. Anderson founded the highly successful Wayne State Summer Music Camp.
Bettelee Lewis was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1990. She began teaching in the Amherst Public Schools while still a student at Kearney State Teachers College. She taught in Shelton, Grand Island and Campbell before taking a position with the Wilcox Public Schools. She introduced a string program during her tenure at Wilcox—making Wilcox one of the smallest schools to have such a program. In 1975 she became Orchestra Director and String Specialist for the Kearney Public Schools. Bettelee served as Chair of Orchestra Affairs from 1968-1970 and served NMEA as Public Relations Chair for eight years.
