Jane Chapman was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1987.  Jane was a PE teacher in Missouri and developed a program for girls in that state.  She married Joe Chapman and joined him in Bassett where he was Director of Bands.  She directed the Choral Program even though she had no degree in music.  They moved to Tekamah where she was Choral Director.

Harvey Snider was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1987. Mr. Snider initially worked for the Burlington Railroad in McCook, NE until he began teaching band in Benkelman 1926 on a provisional certificate.  He moved to Wilber, NE in 1936 and started an instrumental program in the schools. During this time he worked on and received his Nebraska Teaching Certificate.  He taught past the age of 65 and passed away in 1961 at the age of 79.
