Paul Austin was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1986. Paul taught at Bennett, NE, Silver Creek, NE, Wauneta, NE, Valentine, NE, and moved to Lincoln Southeast in 1955 and retired from that position in 1985.
Dr. Harry Holmberg was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1986. His first job was band director at Boulder High School in Colorado in 1940. During a portion of World War II, Harry was a music officer in Europe. After the war ended, he remained in London and took graduate work at the Guildhall School of Music and directed a Brass Band. Afterwards he was assistant band director and a music instructor at Iowa State University and assistant professor of music at Beloit College in Wisconsin. He was hired less than a week before classes began in the fall of 1953. He is a former Vice-President of the board of NMEA.
Victor Jindra was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1986. Mr. Jindra taught in a rural Saline County school until 1913; was principal of Linwood Schools 1913-16; principal of Bruno High School 1916-1917; Superintendent of Bruno Schools 1917-20; and Superintendent of Firth Schools 1920-22. He joined the Peru State staff in 1923 as an instructor in violin and was Chairman of the Fine Arts Department from 1954 until his retirement in 1961. The Campus Fine Arts Center was dedicated in his name in 1966.
Don Johnson was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1986. Don taught at Table Rock 61-64, Wahoo Neuman 64-70, Wahoo Public 70-76, Hastings 77, Fremont 77-96 and Midland College 85-97. Don served as Chair of Band Affairs and Chair of auditions prior to serving as President-Elect, President (1982-83) and Second Vice-President. Don was also a recipient of the prestigious Don Lentz Outstanding Bandmaster Award in 1984 and the Mac Award in 1980.
Dorothy T. Kozak was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association in 1986. She joined the UNL faculty as an Assistant Professor of Music Education in 1963 and became Professor of Music Education in 1972. She was also a member of the Graduate Faculty. She served as Chair of Elementary Affairs for NMEA 1964-1966.
