Oscar Bennett was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1983. Pop taught voice at Nebraska Wesleyan from 1924-1970. He served as Department Chair from 1936-1967. Oscar organized the Wesleyan Men’s Glee Club in 1925 and toured the Midwest extensively. He was given a Distinguished Service Award by NCDA. Oscar Bennett died in 1983.
Harry McNees was inducted into the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1983. He began his teaching career at Hemingford, NE and moved to Kimball in 1952 as Director of the KCHS band where he remained until he retired. Mr. McNees was awarded Donald A. Lentz “Outstanding Bandmaster Award” in 1982. The auditorium at Kimball County High School was renamed “The Harry McNees Auditorium” shortly after his retirement.
